NBA MyGuy Encyclopedia

How to use the MyGuy Encyclopedia:

  • Check the two teams that are playing, for instance, Hawks vs Nets. The top player on the Hawks is Paul Millsap (B+) and the top player on the Nets is Joe Johnson (B). If it were up to me, I would choose Millsap over Johnson.
  • The Ratings take into account playing time (Derrick Rose does not average as many minutes as Stephen Curry, the more minutes a person plays, the more likely they'll score points) as well as the ability to get on a streak. Missed shots, fouls and turnovers break a streak and in some cases are negative points.
  • If you have players with the same rating like Stephen Curry (A+) and James Harden (A+), I honestly think you could choose either player and be fine.
  • What is PYP Player? I'm glad you asked, just click on the "What is PYP Player" link.
  • I tried to dig a little deeper on Chicago and Denver. I studied three game logs from each team and found the "extra" stats which may or may not be helpful.
  • A majority of the times, the top players will get you at least 500 points. I feel that some of the A to A+ superstars you can bank on for about 1,000 most times. It's hard to predict when the +2,500 points will come, but the top players have the ability to hit this threshold more often than lower ranked players.

PS MyGuy is in "Beta" testing. It's smart to get your first quarter picks in early so you don't have to deal with the frozen hardwood floor screen during primetime.

PPS Sometimes Viggle releases a "fake game" early in the morning. It's most likely to test to make sure the app sort of works at night. NBA games are RARELY before 7 EST, if you see this fake game, most times you can play it. Right now, the fake game Viggle uses is the Mavs and Cavs from January 4th.

To get 2,500 every quarter
1st) Kevin Love
2nd) Start with Love at 8:05 switch to Rondo or Parsons at 2:01 switch to Marion.

3rd) Start with Love at 5:20 switch to James Jones at 1:06 switch to Marion.
4th) Start with Love at 8:39 switch to switch to Harris at 6:41 switch to AJ Price.

  1. Does PYP mean players to pick when you get max points and want to lock it out for the rest of the quarter?

    1. Yes. It's for "Protect Your Points". If you get 150 REAL points, you can switch to a PYP player so you don't get a negative score from a missed free throw or turnover.
