Backlash Predictions...Revenge Time

So...I did absolutely horrible at the Wrestlemania PPV for the second year in a row...but here comes backlash for Redemption.

1- CM Punk vs Kane
Uh...do I need an explanation?
Winner: CM PUNK

2- Jericho vs The Dragon
Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat has been impressive...for an old guy. Jericho won at Wrestlemania...but I feel another win is in the works for y2j.
Winner: JERICHO

3- ECW Title: Christian vs Jack Swagger (C)
The European titl....er.... ECW Title. I'm gonna say Christian finally tastes Championship Silver....it's not really a world title, but man.... that's another blog.
Winner: Christian

4- "I Quit" Jeff Hardy vs Matt Hardy
Jeff Hardy hasn't gotten a win in this series. Logic would say with Matt moving to Raw, give Jeff the win. It's an "I quit" match....heels say I Quit right? In this match....I see Jeff quitting. Matt Hardy is the winner.
Winner: MATT HARDY
(Doesn't sound plausible? Jeff beats the living hell out of his brother. Sees the pain he's inflicted on him, and feels guilty, ends the match just before finishing Matt off by saying I quit.)

5- Last Man Standing: Edge vs Cena (C)
Um...Smackdown doesn't have a world title. So....Edge wins right? He has to. Wrong. Same thing happened at Backlash last year. Do I think CM Punk is going to use his MITB on Cena? No...No I don't.
Winner: JOHN CENA

6- HHH/Batista/Shane O'Mac vs Legacy
Can Trips finally lose the title? Lot of people expecting a Batista or Shane heel turn. I'm hoping for one too. Namely Batista, I feel like that'll add more to his character. And Orton will have the belt. I think they'll end it with Orton pinning Shane.
Winner: RANDY ORTON

2009 Draft..... the WWE one.

Where everything will change...big things are coming. That is true. The Draft is usually an exciting time (Unless it was for Vietnam...that one, not so much) And Although the WWE draft is not like a professional sports draft it has it's own appeal as it brings new looks to the WWE shows that our "separate."

This year with the economy the way it is, and the 3 shows sharing talent....it looks like Raw is going to be BEEFED up big time. Smackdown is on a failing network and ECW only consists of one hour. With that in mind, I'm conducting a Fantasy Draft. Not necessarily what I think WILL happen but what SHOULD happen. (Coincidentally some picks will be one in the same.)

Raw is going to be the "A" Show and be getting a lot of the names. Smackdown will have a couple stars but will be mostly for the "next level guys" mid and upper mid card guys. ECW will be the minor leagues. TV time is important.

Pick 1: Rey Mysterio to SD
Time to start Raw off with a bang. Smackdown will benefit from a "top name" going over there because they will be losing. A lot. Rey is much better suited for the Blue Brand.

Pick 2: Mark Henry to SD
Kind of a throw away pick, but SD will need some monster heels.

Pick 3: Evan Bourne to RAW
Bring a high flyer back...people love this guy

Pick 4: Christian to SD
Please get him off ECW, he'll do good with more time and better fueds

Pick 5: Great Khali to ECW
Bring a big monster back.

Pick 6: Mr. Kennedy to ECW
Give him time to redevelop

Pick 7: Kozlov to Raw
Just a gut feeling I guess

Pick 8: Morrison to SD
Whoa....yeah breaking up a great tag team... lame. Miz and Morrison lose the match, in turn costing them their tag team. But maybe both can shine as singles wrestlers.

Pick 9: MVP to Raw
He's on his way up, people like him, and Raw will get a "secondary" champion back. It just makes sense.

Pick 10: Chris Jericho to SD
Whoa! Big coup for the blue boys. Unfortunately what they're about to lose...they NEED this pick.

Pick 11: Edge to Raw
YUP! Time for him to reshine on the red brand.

Pick 12: HHH to Raw
I don't want it to happen...it's a virtual lock to happen. But he's not needed on Smackdown anymore. Laaaame

Half of those were what I think was going to happen I guess. But I do believe that SD will benefit from getting Jericho and Rey Rey. It'll fit the audience well. Christian will take his time on SD to prove his worth. MVP is in the "CM Punk range" where he's ready to go to the next level, bring him over to Raw. Edge and HHH just because Raw needs to be number 1 again.

Predictions for Wrestlemania 25!

As I do every year I write down my thoughts on who is going to win at the Granddaddy of them all! Last year I was way off. So I'm hoping to redeem myself this year.

Intercontinental Title Match
JBL vs Rey-
So... apparently the IC title hasn't been defended at Wrestlemania since WM18. Which is not too surprising because the IC title has lost it's luster. (Or gained it, if you consider the World Heavyweight Title the new IC belt....I digress, that'll be a different blog.) Anyway, Rey had a clean victory on Raw. I think JBL retains. As for his big announcement? I've read a couple interesting theories, one of them being JBL announcing he'll be the new GM of Raw. Interesting....if that's the case? Rey wins.
WINNER: and STILL IC champ JOHN BRADSHAW LAYFIELD

Tag Team Unification Bout
Miz/Morrison vs Primo/Carlito
This one seemed like a no brainer to me. But a couple "experts" out there have the Colons pegged as the unified champions. Miz and Morrison is hands down the best Tag Team currently in the WWE. Just because you're the best though, doesn't necessarily mean you will be the champs. But...I don't think this fued has enough juice to give the Colons the belt.
WINNERS: MIZ AND MORRISON

Money in the Bank
Well let's get rid of the guys who are filler. Mark Henry nope. Kofi and Shelton are there to make some great looking spots. (Shelton usually delivers) Finlay is there to get Hornswoggle involved. That leaves Christian, MVP, Kane, and CM Punk.
Kane is a dark horse because he's got a small push recently. But I think he's out. MVP I think has a lot of potential and I think the WWE is finally going to push him....next year. CM Punk won it last year, but I just don't see him winning it again. (CM's year? World champ, lost w/out being pinned, no fued rematch, IC title, lost on first title defense....oh and he was a tag champ I guess)....so that leaves Christian. Fan favorite and probably the most over guy in the match....except Vince hates him....who knows, maybe the McMahons will do something that makes sense for once.
WINNER: CHRISTIAN

Legends Match
Chris Jericho is one of the best in the business....and he'll gladly job to some of the legends of the sport. Give WWE some mainstream exposure by having Rourke get involved and voila, that is your match. Thank you Y2J.
WINNERS: LEGENDS (But truly the real smarks of wrestling)

25 Diva battle royal
This one is hard because all the participants aren't announced. Poor Stacy Keibler...where are you!?!?! If Trish makes it to the match I think she's the winner.
WINNER: TRISH STRATUS (TAMMY SYTCH or SANTINO) And the male fans haha.

The Streak
Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels
What a great fued buildup. These two have reminded fans why wrestling in the early 90s was so dominant. These two veterans are going to put on a show, with HBK kind of going back into his cocky early 20s heel form, but mixing that with his showstopping wrestlemania form....that being said, PLEASE! Undertaker lose? Not happening.
WINNER: TAKER 17-0

World Heavyweight Championship match
Cena Vs Big Show Vs Edge
I think Edge....which is surprising since the next match I have a heel winning....logic dictates that one of the faces walk out with a championship. But I'm going against it.
Winner: EDGE (Also, Edge vs Cena I think would've been a great match, these two had a great feud not too long ago.)

WWE Championship
Orton vs HHH
Please let Hunter lose...he's great at certain things...I just don't particularly enjoy watching him. Not at all. I believe it's Orton time, he's been built up since he injury return. Age of Orton shall rule us for a while now.
WINNER: RANDY ORTON
